Hubo Initia Hasselt heeft zich ten koste van Union Beynoise geplaatst voor de halve finale van de Beker van België. Een gehavend Hasselt trad aan zonder Köhlen en Roelants; Vanderstraeten is out voor de rest van het seizoen. Deze wedstrijd was tevens de laatste opdracht van 2015.
Initia greep Beyne meteen bij de keel en liep in vier minuten tijd uit tot 0-4 via doelpunten van onder meer Van Criekinge. Beyne kon één keer tegenscoren via Thoelen, maar na 11 minuten keek de thuisploeg al tegen een 1-9 achterstand aan. Na 20 minuten leek de wedstrijd bij een 4-16 stand al gespeeld. Union Beynoise kon aan de rust milderen tot 13-21.
Beyne begon beter aan de tweede helft en scoorde meteen twee keer: 15-21 na 34 minuten. Hasselt was niet aangeslagen en liep via Verhoeven en Robyns uit tot 15-25 na 40 minuten. Het vat was leeg bij de thuisploeg, getuige de 20-31 tussenstand na 47 minuten. Aan Hasseltse zijde kwam zowat iedereen tot scoren. Gillé zorgde voor een 22-37 tussenstand. Houbrechts mocht de eindstand vastleggen: 24-41 en Hubo Initia Hasselt naar de halve finale van de Beker van België!
Die halve finales worden een Limburgs onderonsje, want QubiQ Achilles Bocholt, Callant Tongeren en Sporting NeLo versloegen respectievelijk HC Visé, KV Sasja en Olse Merksem. De loting heeft plaats op 29 december 2015. De halve finales worden in een heen- en terugwedstrijd gespeeld op 13 en 14 februari.
