Bekerhouder VOC is tijdens de loting voor de achtste finale gekoppeld aan de koploper van de eerste divisie: Voorwaarts. Begin februari treffen beide teams elkaar in Twello.
Voorwaarts bereikte de laatste zestien van de bekercompetitite door in de regiofinale af te rekenen met Kwiek 2 (28-36). Voor een plaats in de kwartfinale moet de Gelderse formatie langs titelhouder VOC. In Twello wordt zonder hars gespeeld.
Tijdens de loting werden ook een aantal eredivisionisten aan elkaar gekoppeld. Zo komen Quintus en Foreholte elkaar tegen. In Overijssel strijden provinciegenoten Borhave en Dalfsen om een plaats bij de laatste acht.
